“Christian fellowship is not an ideal which we must realize, but a reality created by God in Christ in which we may participate.”

Dietrich Bonhoeffer · Life Together

Scripture

1 Corinthians 12:12 For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.

Reflection

Dietrich Bonhoeffer writes in Life Together: "Christian fellowship is not an ideal which we must realize, but a reality created by God in Christ in which we may participate." This morning, we connected via video with our brothers and sisters in Pakistan. Though miles apart, we are one body in Christ. In such a vast world and yet within this specific time and space, the fact that we can meet and serve together is no coincidence, but God's wondrous grace. Unity is not something we manufacture; it is something God has already accomplished.
