Daily Devotion
“I must always put His work first; if any danger comes, it is a risk taken for God, not for myself.”
Ye Changqing · "Footprints of Faith: A Glimpse into the Life of Ye Changqing and His Missionary Witness on the Tibetan Plateau"
Scripture
Colossians 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.
Reflection
Ye Changqing traveled across the Sichuan-Tibet border region for over thirty years, spending nine months of every year on the road. He once faced armed bandits and even plunged off a cliff with his horse. Yet, early on, he made up his mind: God always comes first, and any risks taken are for God, not for himself. Paul stated that Christ isइड the head of the church and must have preeminence in everything. This is not merely a missionary slogan, but a daily choice for every believer. Today, in my time, plans, and dreams, does Christ truly hold first place? Or am I simply taking "risks" for myself?
