Reflection

We often think of faith as the peace that comes from seeing the road ahead clearly, but true faith begins precisely in the midst of mists and storms. Isobel Kuhn found God in the very midst of the mist of doubt, and the book of Isaiah reminds us: God never promised smooth sailing, but He did promise His steadfast presence. When you tremble because of an unknown tomorrow and cannot see the way forward, you do not need to force yourself to figure everything out. Faith is not by sight, but placing your weakness into His mighty hand. The Lord who rules the wind and waves is saying to you personally, "Fear not, I will help you." In your anxiety, simply let go of control and hold fast to His right hand that sustains you.
