Daily Devotion
“The ancient Chinese sages' longing and contemplation for the 'Dao' is like looking toward the eastern dawn through a long night; and the coming of Christ is that exquisite true light, illuminating the hidden and sincere devotion in the hearts of the ancients.”

Scripture
Acts 17:26-27 And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us,
Reflection
The ancient Chinese sages' listening and contemplation of the 'Dao' is an eternal imprint left by God in the depths of the human soul. As Paul declared in Athens, the Creator placed the desire to seek Him into the hearts of all nations, enabling us to feel our way and look up through the long night. The Christian 'Incarnation of the Word' does not negate the sincere devotion of the ancients, but responds to this longing with a transcendent true light. When we lay down our pride and examine ourselves in humility, we see clearly: all search for the true meaning of life ultimately finds its perfect home and culmination in the incomparably abundant love and truth of Christ.
