“In the field of missionary work, there are no lone heroes. The Lord sends his disciples out in pairs, reminding us that fellowship in Christ and mutual support are the strongest fortress against the attacks of the enemy.”
David Adeney · A Life Dedicated to the Fullest
Scripture
Luke 10:1 After this, the Lord appointed seventy men and sent them two by two before him to all the towns and places to which he was to go.
Reflection
When Jesus sent his disciples out, he didn't let them venture out alone, but instead established the rule of "two by two." This was not only for efficiency but also out of compassion for human weakness. On the journey of faith, those who stand alone are easily broken by weariness and temptation, while the watchful eyes of companions strengthen the fortress. Do we always want to prove our strength and refuse to enter into genuine fellowship? True spiritual maturity lies not in self-cultivation, but in learning to support one another, witnessing the Lord's love in humble partnership.
