Daily Devotion
“I was often forced to kneel and pray because I had nowhere else to go. My wisdom and ability seemed insufficient to cope with the responsibilities of the day, but I found strength in God's presence.”
Abraham Lincoln · Lincoln's Memoirs
Scripture
2 Corinthians 12:9 He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, that Christ’s power may rest on me.
Reflection
When the pressure came, I realized I wasn't as strong as I thought. The heavier the responsibility, the more my limitations were revealed. God didn't immediately remove the burden, but instead showed me my true self in my weakness. If I hadn't reached a point of "nowhere to go," I wouldn't have truly knelt down. I realized that weakness isn't the end, but rather the entrance to grace. Today, I will learn not to be forceful, not to rely on cleverness, but to experience the Lord's sufficient grace within my limitations.
