“The Kingdom of God has come, but not yet fully; it has entered history, but not yet ended it.”
George Rad · The Existence of the Future
Scripture
Luke 17:20-21 The Pharisees asked, “When will the kingdom of God come?” Jesus answered, “The kingdom of God will not come with sight. No one will say, ‘Look, here! Look, there!’ For the kingdom of God is within you.”
Reflection
We often yearn, like the Pharisees, for a visible, quantifiable kingdom that can instantly transform our circumstances; but Jesus points out that God's kingdom has already quietly arrived in His presence. The question is not whether God reigns, but whether we are willing to allow Him to reign in our lives. God's kingdom is not a future comfort to escape reality, but a call that is already among us today—to live out the pattern of the Kingdom of Heaven in a world that is not yet fully renewed.
