Ephesians 5:31–32 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. This is a great mystery, but I am speaking of Christ and the church.

Reflection

Marriage is not merely the union of two people, but a mystery imbued with meaning by God. The world often understands marriage as the fulfillment of emotions, but Paul elevates the perspective—marriage points to the relationship between Christ and the Church. When feeling weak and weary, what truly sustains a family is not emotion, but covenant; not taking from one another, but learning to sacrifice oneself like Christ. Family happiness often comes not from less pressure, but from choosing faithfulness and companionship even under pressure.
