Daily Devotion

“The Christian life often begins with a solitary calling. God first leads people into the wilderness, making them realize they cannot fulfill their mission alone. But God does not allow people to walk alone forever. When people learn to humble themselves before God, He gives them brothers and sisters, not as spectators, but as fellow workers who bear each other's burdens. True spiritual fellowship is not about coming together because of shared goals, but about being together in Christ, enabling us to walk together for a long time.”

Dietrich Bonhoeffer · Fellowship Life

Scripture

Ecclesiastes 4:9–12 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor. If one of them falls, he can help his companion up; but woe to the one who falls alone and has no one to help him up.

Reflection

When I expect fellow workers for my ministry, I need to be reminded first that true unity doesn't stem from a shared plan, but from shared kneeling. God often lets me first experience a period of solitude, teaching me that I cannot rely on ability, resources, or enthusiasm; only then does He bring companions at the right time. Supporters are not those who stand by my side, but those willing to pray together, wait together, and be pruned together. Without God's guidance, no matter how many people there are, the ministry cannot be stable; but with God's guidance, even two or three people are enough to go far.
