Daily Devotion
“Humanity's greatest need is not happiness, but the fulfillment of God's glory. People pursue happiness, yet often fall into disappointment and emptiness. Only in God's glory can our hearts find true satisfaction and rest. Although this path is sometimes difficult and misunderstood by the world, it is the only way to eternal joy.”
John Parker · Thirsting for God
Scripture
Psalm 16:11 You will show me the paths of life; in your presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Reflection
The happiness that people pursue is often fleeting and fragile, and I, too, am often drawn to these momentary satisfactions, only to find my heart still empty. Psalm 16:11 reminds me that true joy does not come from circumstances, success, applause, or possessions, but from the presence of God. John Parker's words, "Man's deepest satisfaction is in the glory of God," further help me understand that only when I treasure God can life find direction, meaning, and eternal joy. This path may not be understood by the world, but it is the truest and most steadfast.
