“Faith and reason are not contradictory; true faith transcends reason. If one relies solely on reason to explore the meaning of life, one will ultimately fall into endless confusion and nihilism. Only when reason submits to divine revelation does life have an eternal goal and a solid foundation.”
Francis Bacon · The Theory of Truth
Scripture
2 Corinthians 4:18 For we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Reflection
In this age of information overload and rational pursuit, we are often limited by visible facts and logic, easily falling into confusion and helplessness. 2 Corinthians 4:18 reminds us to transcend what we see and look to the unseen, eternal spiritual truth. Francis Bacon's words also reveal that true faith is obedience to God's revelation, submitting reason to God's word. Only in this way can life find a solid foundation and eternal meaning.
