Daily Devotion
“It is difficult for God to use a person extensively unless He has first deeply wounded him; however, such wounds are never meant to destroy, but to purify, so that the soul may ultimately find rest only in God.”
A.W. Tozer · The Foundation of the Righteous
Scripture
John 15:2 “He prunes every branch that bears fruit, so that it may bear even more fruit.”
Reflection
The Lord often prunes our lives without our awareness, allowing us to experience purification that may seem painful but is filled with loving compassion. It is because He knows our deeper weaknesses that He allows us to be broken, so that we no longer rely on our own strength but completely depend on Him. Today's peace and prosperity are not accidental, but the grace of pruning, the gentle hand of God protecting us. May I not forget His grace in good times, and not doubt His love in adversity.
