John 10:30, 33 "I and the Father are one."... The Jews answered, "We did not stone you for any good deed, but because you have spoken blasphemy, and because you, a man, have claimed yourself to be God."

Reflection

Jesus clearly declared during His earthly life that He and the Father were one, which is the fundamental reason for His crucifixion. The world refuses to acknowledge His divinity, yet is willing to call Him a "good teacher" to avoid the cost of submission. C.S. Lewis reminds us that if He truly is the Son of God, we cannot merely admire Him, but must worship Him. The core of faith lies not in what Jesus taught, but in who He was.
