Daily Devotion
“Fellow workers, don't think our work is preaching. Our most essential and important task is kneeling down. Faith is nothing other than kneeling down and watching God work. Without persistent prayer, everything we say is just dust floating in the air, devoid of any life force.”
John Sung · Sermons
Scripture
1 Corinthians 2:4-5 I do not speak or preach with wisdom and gentleness, but with a demonstration of the Holy Spirit’s power, so that your faith may not rest on human wisdom but on the power of God.
Reflection
Dr. Song Shangjie's cry and Paul's declaration struck like lightning, shattering our arrogance in service and life. We often focus on our eloquence, plans, and abilities, believing that clever words can change hearts. However, without kneeling in prayer, all efforts are nothing but dust floating in the air. True service and revival are never products of the human mind, but clear evidence of the Holy Spirit's power. Only by completely dying to the "self," bowing down before God, and letting Him work, can our faith not be built on fragile human wisdom, but firmly rooted in God's unshakeable power.
