Esther 4:14 For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

Reflection

In 1846, Ieong Tsong-gwang wrote a letter from Guangzhou, viewing the newly established mission board as prepared by God for "such a time as this." Mordecai reminded Esther that God's salvation would not fail because of human silence, yet those who remained silent would miss the blessing of being used by God. The position we hold, the resources we possess, and the people we know are not accidental. Today, as God has placed me in this family, this city, and among this people, do I see that this is precisely "for such a time as this," or do I choose to remain silent?
