Daily Devotion
“The human soul is of immeasurable value, beyond the measure of worldly gold, silver, fame, and position. What good is it if one gains the world but loses one's soul? The wise men of China seek to excel in this world, yet if they do not know the destiny of the soul and the salvation of the Creator, they are ultimately like those walking in the dark without a lamp, lost and without direction.”
William Muirhead · Differences and similarities between Heaven and Man
Scripture
Matthew 16:26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what will anyone give in exchange for their soul?
Reflection
We often lose our way in the hustle and bustle of worldly pursuits, focusing our attention on immediate achievements, wealth, and fame, while neglecting the most precious thing—the soul—that endures forever. Without the ultimate destination of life, all worldly gains are ultimately vanity. Only by grounding our lives in the salvation and true light of the Creator can the soul find true rest and direction, no longer like a person walking in the dark without a lamp.
