Reflection

Spurgeon's words remind me not to be overly sensitive to criticism or attacks from others. In reality, I often criticize and judge others in my heart. While others pointing out my flaws may sting, their words are often nothing compared to my true inner state. If I become angry at criticism, it only reveals my pride and unwillingness to confess my sin. God wants me to learn humility, to acknowledge my weaknesses, and to treat others with forgiveness and tolerance. Only then can I truly live in God's light and no longer lose my peace because of someone else's words.
