Daily Devotion
“In the darkest moments of human history, God has never forsaken His church; when earthly paths seem completely blocked, the gates of heaven remain wide open to the praying saints.”
Leslie Lyall · The Sovereign Lord
Scripture
Revelation 3:8 I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have little power, and you have kept my word and have not denied my name.
Reflection
Faced with limitations in our circumstances or our own weakness, we often feel anxious and small because we 'have little power.' However, what concerns the Lord is not how much strength or potential we possess, but whether we 'keep His word and do not deny His name' amid the storms. Earthly doors may be heavily barred by circumstances, difficulties, or setbacks, but the 'open door' to grace, hope, and destiny given by the Lord can never be closed by any darkness or power in this world. The gaze of faith looks away from our exhausted strength and fixes its eyes on the One who holds the heavenly doors open for you.
