Daily Devotion

“Later in life I discovered that almost everything I had learned, once dedicated to the Lord, would somehow be put to use. You know, everything you have ever done, when placed in the hands of the Lord, can be used by Him.”

Rockwell Smith · Oral History Interviews with Rockwell Smith

Scripture

Romans 8:28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Reflection

When Rockwell Smith was young, baking bread and learning to type in night school, he never imagined these skills would be related to missions. Years later, however, he managed hospital finances in Lanzhou and procured medicines for patients in times of hardship. God did not waste a single chapter of his life. We often feel that certain days are ordinary and certain tasks are useless. Yet, for those who love God, all things work together in His hands. The key is not how much we possess, but whether we are willing to surrender everything to the Lord.
