“If there is no self-denial on the path of following Christ, we can hardly grasp how precious His blood is; if we have never known the thirst of the wilderness, we can hardly tell others how sweet the living water is.”

Scripture
Philippians 3:10-11: that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.
Reflection
Philippians 3:10 reminds us: true faith is not a safe haven, but a journey of personal following. We often long to experience the salvation of Christ's blood and the sweetness of the living water of life, yet we frequently shy away from the cost of the cross and the refinement of the wilderness. However, without experiencing the stripping and longing in suffering, our understanding of God remains merely conceptual. Only when we are willing to deny ourselves in ordinary or difficult circumstances, conforming to His death, can we truly grasp the reality of living water amidst the dryness of life, and thus become channels of the Gospel of life.
