Daily Devotion
“A sense of our own folly is a great step towards being wise, when it leads us to rely on the wisdom of the Lord. The blind man leans on his friend's arm and reaches home in safety, and so would we give ourselves up implicitly to divine guidance, nothing doubting; assured that though we cannot see, it is always safe to trust the all-seeing God.”
Charles H. Spurgeon · Morning and Evening, September 1, Morning (Psalm 73:24)
Scripture
Isaiah 55:8-9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Reflection
God's word reminds us that His thoughts and ways far surpass our limited understanding. Life is often filled with uncertainty and confusion, and when we use our limited wisdom and perspective to view problems, we often fail to see the whole picture. God, however, is an all-knowing and all-powerful Lord; His plans and arrangements exceed our imagination. When we feel lost or confused, it is precisely a time to test our faith. We must learn to be humble, entrusting our thoughts and plans to God and trusting in His guidance. He will surely guide our paths, leading us onto the beautiful road He has prepared for us.
