Daily Devotion

“Learn thus, if thou wouldest bless others, to abide in Christ, and that if thou dost abide, thou shalt surely bless. ... As you undertake to work, you speedily become conscious of your own weakness and the difficulties in your way. Souls are not saved at your bidding. You are ready to be discouraged, and to relax your effort. But abiding in Christ, you receive new courage and strength for the work.”

Andrew Murray · Abide in Christ, Twentieth Day "That You May Bear Much Fruit"

Scripture

Hebrews 12:2 Look to Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.

Reflection

In my pastoral care and ministry, I often unconsciously focus my attention on the needs of the ministry, people's expectations, and my own responsibilities, leading to spiritual exhaustion and depletion of strength. The Lord reminds me that true strength does not come from the ministry itself, but from life united with Christ. Only by fixing my eyes on Christ and abiding in Him can I see the flock with His eyes, His gentleness, and His strength, and faithfully fulfill the mission He has entrusted to me.
