“We read in Holy Scripture, both that God's mercy shall meet me, and that His mercy shall follow me. It goes before the unwilling to make him willing; it follows the willing to make his will effectual.”

Augustine · Enchiridion, ch. 32

Scripture

Philippians 2:13 For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.

Reflection

Philippians 2:13 reminds me that what truly propels me forward is not my own ability, zeal, or experience, but the grace of God working within me. He not only calls me but also perfects me; He not only moves me to serve but also gives me the strength to stand firm in service. This makes me understand that responding to the call is not by my own strength but by submitting to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Since everything comes from God, I need not fear my own weaknesses, but simply faithfully walk in His will.
