“God is the true Lord of heaven, earth, and all things. He created the heavens, the earth, humanity, spirits, and all creatures, ruling and nurturing them as our great Parent.”

Giulio Aleni · "Records of Learning in Sanshan"

Acts 17:24 The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man,

Reflection

Giulio Aleni traveled ninety thousand li to proclaim to Chinese scholars: "God is the true Lord of heaven, earth, and all things." Just as Paul declared in Athens, the God who created the universe is the Lord of heaven and earth. Both missionaries, far from home, started from the visible heavens and earth to point toward the Creator. Today, do we often limit God to church buildings and gatherings? Our very breath and daily provisions all come from His hand. He is not only the Sovereign Ruler but also our "great Parent," nurturing us with tender love.
